Uruguay

When I found out that I was going to Uruguay I didn't know very much about it, so I am going to bet that you don't know much either.  So here is your mini lesson:


As you can see is in what is considered the "Southern Cone" of South America, sandwiched between Argentina and Brazil.

 I will be in the capital, Montevideo. Pronounced moan-te-v-day-o (clearly I don't know how to write pronunciation guides, but hopefully you can figure it out).  About half of the roughly 3.5 million population live in or around Montevideo and most of the rest live in other cities on the coast. Most of the interior consists of ranches.

Some fun facts about Uruguay:

It is about the size of Washington, my home state.

Cows outnumber people by about a 3-1 ratio.
